BAPU town
BAPU town is located in the middle of Meigu County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is adjacent to heguluo Township in the East, farming Township in the south, Bagu Township and Dianbu Township in the west, Tuomu Township, juelo Township, xigansa Township and jingyetexi Township in the north. The town management office is set up in papu. Hemu highway and Chengmei highway meet here, with an altitude of 2000 meters. It is the political, economic and cultural center and transportation hub of the county. The total area of the town is 35.43 square kilometers, of which the urban area is 3 square kilometers.
On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Liangshan Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of Puge county and other seven counties (cfzm [2021] No. 1): cancel Bagu Township and farming Township, put the administrative areas of Bagu Township and farming Township under the jurisdiction of BAPU Town, and the people's Government of BAPU town is stationed at No. 2, group 5, EPU village.
Basic introduction
BAPU town governs 8 villages and 54 groups in the suburbs of BAPU, EPU, Jiwei, taqian, gengze, Dage, Sanhe and Sala (there is no residents committee in the urban area). There are 2905 households with a total population of 11277, including 5239 urban residents and 6038 rural villagers. There are 7452 Yi, 3713 Han, 12 Hui, 1 Tibetan and 9 Mongolian in the town, with a population density of 318.29 per square kilometer.
In May 1956, BAPU and Sanhe townships were set up in today's BAPU Town, under the jurisdiction of BAPU district. In March 1958, the people's Committee of BAPU township was established. In October of that year, Sanhe township was abolished, and Sanhe Village in the jurisdiction was assigned to BAPU township. In 1959, BAPU township was withdrawn into the commune of BAPU district and changed into BAPU brigade. In 1961, the district commune was abolished, and the BAPU brigade was transformed into BAPU commune, which belonged to BAPU district.
In May 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of papu commune was established. In 1973, the Puqian brigade under its jurisdiction was incorporated into the xigansa commune. On July 12, 1981, the reform committee of BAPU commune was changed into a management committee. In July 1984, the township system was restored and the township government was set up, and the subordinate relationship remained unchanged. On August 1 of this year, the provincial people's Government approved the change of BAPU Township into BAPU Town, and set up a town people's government, which is directly under the jurisdiction of the county people's government.
Township Development
In 1990, the total agricultural output value of the town was 1908500 yuan (985200 yuan for agriculture, 136500 yuan for forestry, 5838000 yuan for animal husbandry, 203000 yuan for sideline and fishery); there were 5582 mu of cultivated land, 1904000 kg of grain, and 1505 yellow cattle, 18 buffaloes, 75 yaks, 6448 pigs, 1396 goats and 1282 sheep. There are 1 commercial purchasing and marketing group and 1 Bank Credit Union in the town, 8 rural primary schools with 390 students, 1 town health center and 1 medical staff.
