Wayaogou Township
Wayaogou township is located in the southwest mountainous area of Lushi County, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province, at the junction of two provinces and three counties. It is adjacent to Xixia County of Nanyang City in the East, Shangnan County of Shaanxi Province in the west, and zhuyangguan Town, Wulichuan town and Shiziping Township in the county. It is an important water source area of South to north water diversion. National Highway 209 passes through the country. The township government is 73 kilometers away from the county seat and 12 kilometers away from zhuyangguan station of Hubei expressway. It is connected with national highway 312 in the South with convenient transportation and communication. It is the South Gate of Sanmenxia and Lushi County. The township has a total area of 247.37 square kilometers (in 2017), a cultivated area of 6150 mu, 11 administrative villages, 134 residential groups, and 13206 permanent residents (in 2017).
Located in the hinterland of Funiu Mountain, Wayaogou township has a temperate monsoon climate. It has deep mountains and deep gullies, with a forest area of 340000 Mu and a forest coverage rate of more than 97%. It has four resource advantages: ecological resources, forest resources, non-metallic mineral resources and border trade. It is the township with the most complete tourism elements and the most varieties in the county, mainly including bailongmiao primeval forest, Shima ancient village, Longmen, karst cave, bamboo sea, cyathela spinulosa, ancient ginkgo tree, wild Taxus, Rhododendron, autumn red maple, etc.
Historical evolution
From the end of Ming Dynasty to the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), it belonged to zhuyangli, and then to three districts. In the 31st year of the Republic of China (1942), it belonged to Chongwen town. After liberation in 1949, it belonged to Wulichuan district. In 1951, it belonged to the eighth District of zhuyangguan, which was newly divided into two small townships: Wayaogou and lipuanping. In 1956, Wayaogou was the Central Township. In 1958, it was transferred to Wulichuan commune. In 1961, it was established as Wayaogou commune. In 1984, it was established as Wayaogou township. In 2018, the county's administrative villages were merged and adjusted, with 11 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of the township.

topographic features
The township is located at the western end of Funiu mountain range. On the boundary between Henan and Shaanxi in the west, from northwest to Southeast, it runs through a boundary ridge. It is a natural barrier with an altitude of 1300 meters. On the boundary between Shiziping Township and Longtou mountain in the north, from north to south, it forms a terrain of high in the West and low in the East.
climatic conditions
Wayaogou township has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate, with an annual average temperature of 10.3 ℃, a frost free period of 152 days, an annual precipitation of 800-850 mm, and disastrous weather of hail, flood, summer and drought.
River system
Qihe River, which originates from Shiziping Township, meanders through the mountains from northwest to Southeast, and flows into Xixia County from nianziwan, with a flow of 1.4 cubic meters per second; Piaochi River, which originates from zhuyangguan Town, flows into the township from Longbo, from northwest to Southeast, and converges into Qihe river through the township government.

Traffic construction
Due to the limited terrain, the traffic was inconvenient. Today, the road traffic situation has changed greatly: the opened Haoji railway passes through the territory, the upgrading and reconstruction of national highway 209 has been completed, the construction of county and township highways, tongtongzheng villages and natural group highways has been basically completed, and 11 administrative villages are connected with passenger buses, 12 kilometers away from zhuyangguan station of Hubei expressway, and connected with national highway 312 in the south, making it convenient and smooth to travel.
Economic situation
The total cultivated land area of the township is 6150 mu, and the farmers are self-sufficient. The cultivated land is mainly corn, and also soybean, red bean, sweet potato, potato, etc. The main economic sources are related sidelines, such as the development of mushroom cultivation and migrant workers. With the development of edible fungi production as the leading industry, the scale of edible fungi bags, Lentinus edodes and chestnut area in the township reached 30 million bags and 30000 Mu respectively, making it the township with the largest planting scale of edible fungi and chestnut in the county. Every season, chestnut, walnut and other local products are produced.

The township is rich in tourism resources, mainly including: Bailong Temple primeval forest, Shima ancient village, Longmen, karst cave, bamboo sea, Millennium Alsophila spinulosa, ancient ginkgo, wild Taxus, Rhododendron, autumn red maple, etc. the Dragon Cave in longquanping is magnificent and unpredictable. The entrance of the cave and Longmen face each other across the Qihe river. Behind the Dragon Cave is a mountain spring, which is named "longquanping" and is a famous resort in the county.
