Taopu town

The town of Shanghai is located in the northwest of Putuo District, with a total area of 18.83 square kilometers, with 7 villagers' committees and 40 residents' committees. The total population of the town is 194 thousand and 800, of which the registered residence population is 88 thousand.

Taopu town covers an area of 18.83 square kilometers. In December of the 10th year of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty (1218 A.D.), when Jiading County was established, it belonged to Yiren township. The administrative system of Taopu town began with the establishment of Taopu people's commune in 1961; in 1983, the government and society were separated and named Taopu township; on September 28, 1992, Taopu township of Jiading County was assigned to Putuo District; on March 18, 1994, Taopu township was withdrawn and built into a town, becoming a town in Shanghai.

Historical evolution

The town got its name from the river Taopu. It originally belonged to Jiading County. Taopu commune was established in 1962 and changed to township in 1983. In 1992, it was assigned to Putuo District. In 1993, the township was removed to build a town. At the end of 1995, it covers an area of 16 square kilometers and has a population of 17800. The town government is located at No. 789 Wuwei road and has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages, namely Jinguang, Liziyuan, Qilian, Zhenjian, Chunguang, Taopu, Xinyang and Chapu.

On November 30, 1995, Putuo District Government approved the preparation of Taopu new village sub district office. With an area of 4.2 square kilometers and a population of 40000, it has jurisdiction over 13 neighborhood committees and two administrative villages, namely, Chapu and Taopu. On January 29, 1997, the Shanghai municipal government approved that Taopu Xincun street should be renamed Baili road street; on March 6, Baili Road Street office was officially established.

In April 2000, Baili road street was abolished and merged into Taopu town. By the end of 2000, Taopu town had an area of 18.0 square kilometers, a population of 80825, and 29 neighborhood (Village) committees. In 2004, the town government was stationed at No. 789 Wuwei West Road, governing the Huxi campus of Tongji University, lotus apartment, Kunlun garden, six villages of Liziyuan, Ruixiang garden, Hehuan garden, Lvyang garden, Xuesong Garden No. 1, Haitang garden, hele garden, pomegranate garden, bailiyuan garden, Zijing garden, Dujuan garden, Shancha garden, Yingchun garden, Yinghua garden, Xuesong Garden No. 2, Xuesong Garden No. 3, wisteria garden, Xiangzhang garden, Nanli garden There are 23 neighborhood committees in Jinguan and xinjiayuan, and 8 administrative villages in Jinguang, Qilian, Chunguang, Liziyuan, Zhenjian, Xinyang, Taopu and Chapu. Zhichuang City

Taopu Zhichuang city (formerly known as Taopu science and technology wisdom city) is located in the east of Taopu Town, with the central ring road in the East, the outer ring road in the west, the Shanghai Nanjing railway in the South and the Shanghai Jiaxing Expressway in the north. The total area is about 7.93 square kilometers, which is divided into core area and expansion area. The core area is the first start-up area, covering an area of 4.23 square kilometers, with a total area of 5244.89 mu. Taopu New Village

The part outside the inner and outer ring road of Taopu town is called Taopu new village. There is a subway station, Taopu Xincun station. It is densely populated and has many residential areas.

Taopu new village is the main gathering place of residents in Taopu town. Taopu town has the only street hospital. There are five primary and secondary schools: Taopu Central Primary School, LianJian primary school, Hengde primary school, Taopu middle school and Xinyang middle school. There are Wal Mart, agribusiness, Century Lianhua and other large supermarkets in the area, and two medium-sized shopping malls are built at the subway entrance of Taopu new village. Taopu new village has convenient transportation.
