Hailin town

Hailin Town, located in the west of Mudanjiang, is the seat of the municipal Party committee and government of Hailin City. It is adjacent to Hainan Korean nationality township in Xi'an District of Mudanjiang City in the East and to Machang of Mudanjiang City in the north. It was formed in 2001 by the merger of the original Hailin Town, Xinhe Township and Shihe Township, with an administrative area of 885 square kilometers (in 2017), 32 administrative villages and 75 natural villages under its jurisdiction. The total population of the town is 113122 (in 2017), including Han, Manchu and Korean, of which the Korean population is 8000. 240000 mu of basic farmland, including 28000 mu of paddy field. It is the most charming town in Heilongjiang Province.

history

Hailin town was originally the county seat of Hailin County, hence its name. Its original name was "zhangfangshan". In the middle and late Qing Dynasty, there were residents. Because there is a small mountain in the East, which looks like a "tent", it is called "Zhangfang mountain". At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the railway station was built in zhangfangshan by building the Middle East Railway, which was named "Hailin". In 1910 (the second year of Xuantong of Qing Dynasty), it was subordinate to Ning'an Prefecture. After the founding of the Republic of China, in 1921, it belonged to reunion township of Ning'an county. During the occupation of Northeast China, Hailin was set up in 1933 and changed to Hailin street in 1939. With a population of about 7000, it has become a market town. After the victory of the "93" Anti Japanese war in 1945, Xinhai county was set up in August 1946 as Xinhai county and Hailin district. In September 1948, after Xinhai and Wulin counties merged into Hailin County, Hailin district was still established. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was changed into the Sixth District in October 1949. In March 1956, Hailin county was abolished and put under the jurisdiction of Ning'an county. In April of the same year, Hailin town was set up. In September 1958, Hailin people's commune was established. On October 30, 1962, Hailin county was restored as Hailin county. In May 1964, Hailin commune was divided into Hailin town commune and Xinhe rural commune. In 1980, Hailin commune was renamed Hailin town.

Hailin town is located in the lower reaches of Langlang River and its tributary douyinhe Valley, with low and flat terrain. It belongs to plain valley area. The town has a total area of 885 square kilometers (2017), with 29000 mu of arable land, mainly for food crops and vegetables. The provincial Hailin forestry bureau is located in the town.

In 2013, the total population of the town was 138000, including 49000 agricultural population, living in Han, Manchu and Korean ethnic groups, including 8000 Korean population.

In agricultural production, soybean, corn and rice are three major food crops.
