Puyang farm is located in the east of Baoquanling administration area in Heilongjiang reclamation area and on the North Bank of the lower reaches of Songhua River. Historical evolution

Puyang farm is named "Puyang farm" by the homonym of "Puya" in Puya river. It was originally the 17th regiment of the second division of Heilongjiang production and Construction Corps of Shenyang Military Region of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. It was established on the basis of Tangyuan farm in 1971. At that time, there was only 100000 mu of arable land in Tangyuan farm, and there was no development prospect because of the "flower arrangement" with the commune land. Therefore, from 1971, the whole regiment of the 17th regiment moved to the puyahe area to open up wasteland and build a new farm. According to the principle of "moving, constructing, opening up wasteland and developing", the relocation was completed by 1973.

Construction scale

At the same time, 115000 mu of land was reclaimed. In February 1976, the production and Construction Corps was abolished and changed into Puyang farm, which was subordinate to Baoquanling farm Administration Bureau. Puyang farm is located in the alluvial plain on the North Bank of Songhua River, with low-lying terrain. After the construction of the farm, it suffered from natural disasters, especially the spring flood in 1973, which flooded more than 60% of the farmland and collapsed some houses. In order to defend against natural disasters, a mechanized water conservancy team has been specially established. After ten years of hard work, a 54 km long dike along the river and a 70 km long backwater dike have been built. The total length of all the dikes is 120 km, known as the "Great Wall of Puyang". Finally, a mechanized farm with stable and high yield and continuous profits has been built. The total land area is 770000 mu, including 374000 mu of arable land, mainly planted with wheat and soybean. In 1992, the total grain output was 48000 tons, and the commodity rate was more than 60%. There are machinery repair factory, grain and oil processing factory, poultry processing factory and so on. Special grade II wheat flour has won the title of ministry excellent. At the end of 1992, the total population was 9507. Puyang, with a population of 4947, has developed into an agricultural reclamation town.
