History of construction

In May 1946, it belonged to Taihe District.

In 1949, it belonged to the second district.

In 1956, Baodong township was established.

In June 1958, the Township Reform commune was established.

In September 1959, it was merged with the farm and belonged to the Taihe Branch of 8500 farm.

In March 1962, the market and society separated and Baodong commune was established.

In 1984, the commune was transformed into a township.

In 2001, it merged with Taihe Township and became Baodong town.
