Weihe Town, belonging to Shangzhi City, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the southeast of Shangzhi City, at the West foot of zhangguangcailing, and at the confluence of Magui River and Weisha river. It is adjacent to Yabuli town in the East, zhenzhushan town in the south, yianpo town and laojieji town in the west, Qingyang Town and Yuanbao town in the north. In 2018, the area of Wei River town was 254.19 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 43096.

By the end of 2019, Weihe town has three communities and 13 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

In 1927, Weihe town was established as the county seat, belonging to the first district.

In 1934, it was changed to Weihe street.

In 1945, it was changed into Chengguan District of Weihe county.

In March 1948, Weihe county was merged into Shangzhi county and changed into Weihe District of Shangzhi county.

In 1956, the district was transformed into a township.

In 1958, Xinmin and Chonghe townships were merged into Weihe town.

Weihe town is located in the hilly and shallow mountain area, which is long and narrow from north to South and short from east to west. The terrain is mainly composed of low mountains and hills, river valleys and plains, with an altitude of 250-667m. There are more than 10 peaks, the highest point in sanrenban mountain, 667 meters above sea level.

Weihe town belongs to the Songhua River system. There are three rivers, large and small, namely, the first-class tributary of the right bank of the Songhua River, Mazhou River, Weisha River and JuShui river.
