Pingan town
Pingandi Town, belonging to Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County of Liaoning Province, is located in the northeast of the county, facing Baiyinhua Sumu in Kulun banner of Inner Mongolia autonomous region across Liuhe River in the north, 53 kilometers northeast of the county. The maximum distance from east to west is 18 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 23 kilometers, with a total area of 294.43 square kilometers. At the end of 2018, 20173 people registered residence in Pingdi town.
Ping'an Di town was named after a Mongolian with five surnames Ping'an who lived here during the reign of Emperor Qianlong. In 1958, pingandixiang was established and merged into Weixing commune in the same year. In 1961, pingandi commune was set up. In 1983, it was changed to pingandixiang. In 1998, the township was transformed into a town. As of June 2020, pingandi town has a total of 13 administrative villages.
In 2018, pingandi town has 5 industrial enterprises and 80 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In 1947, it belonged to the Sixth District of Fuxin County in the early days of liberation.
In 1955, the district was withdrawn and the township was built.
In 1958, pingandixiang was established and merged into Weixing commune in the same year.
In 1961, pingandi commune was set up.
In 1983, it was changed to pingandixiang.
In 1998, the township was transformed into a town.
