Jiefang Road used to be West Street and Ximen street, also known as Zhongshan Road. From Xialu bridge in the east to Bajiaoting in the west, it is 778 meters long. In January of the 24th year of the Republic of China, Wang boqiu widened and reconstructed the ancient "Fuqian Street". The two-story brick wall was built for the houses and shops on the street. The width of the street was 11 meters, the road surface was widened from 3.5 meters to 6 meters, and longan trees were planted on the roadside.
In October 1949, it was renamed Jiefang Road. In 1977, the county government funded the construction of concrete pavement, with 6 meters wide carriageway and 2.5 meters wide sidewalks on both sides.
