Xiajiadian Township

Xiajiadian Township, belonging to Songshan District, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the east of Songshan District. It is connected with Anqing town in the East, Hongshan District across the river in the south, Yuanbaoshan District in the southeast, Dangpudi Manchu Township in the West and Wengniute Banner in the north. The area is 368 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 37148 people registered residence.

In 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of gaishuidi commune. In 1980, the commune management committee was restored. In 1984, gaishuidi township was located in the suburb of Chifeng City. In 2005, shuidi Township and wangjiadian Township merged into Xiajiadian township. As of June 2020, Xiajiadian has jurisdiction over 17 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

At the beginning of October 1949, it belongs to Chifeng County water area (three districts).

In 1956, after withdrawing the District, shuidi township was built, named after shuidi village.

In 1958, shuidi commune was established, belonging to Chifeng City.

In 1960, it was incorporated into anqinggou commune.

In 1961, it was separated from anqinggou commune and restored to shuidi commune.

In 1962, it belongs to Chifeng county.

In 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of gaishuidi commune.

In 1980, the commune management committee was restored.

In 1984, gaishuidi township was located in the suburb of Chifeng City.

In 2005, shuidi Township and wangjiadian Township merged into Xiajiadian township.

Xiajiadian township is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with hills as the main terrain, belonging to the geomorphic characteristics of half mountain and half river area. The main mountains in the territory include spider mountain, Pingding Mountain, Jiguan mountain, Lama mountain and Dawang mountain. The highest Lama mountain is located in Xinglonggou village, with an altitude of 1140 meters; the lowest Yingjin river bed is located in shanshuipo village, with an altitude of 502 meters.

The main tributary is Zhaosu river.
