Suhaitu Street
Wuda District, Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is located in the northwest of the area. It governs three communities.
Historical evolution
It's named for its location in suhai. "Suhaitu" is a Mongolian translation, which means "land of red willows". In May 1960, Suhaitu City commune was established, belonging to Wuda city (changed to Wuda office in 1976). In April 1981, it was renamed Suhaitu street. In 1996, it covers an area of 11.9 square kilometers and has a population of 17000. It governs 13 neighborhood committees named after ordinal numbers. In 2001, it borders Zhenhua street and Wulan Township in the East, jiaozigou street in the south, and Alxa Left Banner in the northwest. It covers an area of 11.638 square kilometers, has a population of 14506 in 256 households, and has jurisdiction over the first to ninth neighborhood committees. The main production units in the territory include Suhaitu Coal Mine, Shenhua Wuda Mining Company Yanshi power plant, tax office, police station, post and Telecommunications School, farmers' market and other units, and more than 200 community service outlets. By the end of 2001, 49 million yuan of industrial added value, 1.02 million yuan of human capital tax, 90000 yuan of fiscal and tax revenue, two new projects, including one project with more than one million yuan, and 48 unemployed people.
