Gongwusu Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Hainan District, Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of Hainan District. It is connected with Qipanjing town of Ordos City in the East, bayintaohai town in the south, Lasengmiao town in the West and lasengzhong street in the north, with an administrative area of 85 square kilometers.

In 1976, Gongwusu commune was established; in 1981, Gongwusu commune was changed into street; on December 29, 1999, the street was changed into Gongwusu town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 11307. As of June 2020, Gongwusu town has four communities under its jurisdiction.

In 2011, the total revenue of Gongwusu town was 330 million yuan, an increase of 5.4% over the previous year. In 2018, there were 35 industrial enterprises in Gongwusu Town, including 20 Enterprises above Designated Size and 3 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

In 1976, Gongwusu commune was established.

In 1981, Gongwusu commune was transformed into a street.

On December 29, 1999, the street was changed to Gongwusu town.

Gongwusu town is located in the west of Ordos Plateau, at the south end of wide valley between gangdeger mountain and xizhuozishan mountain, belonging to piedmont alluvial proluvial area.
