Xihu town

Xihu town is located in the northwest of Yangzhou City, adjacent to the scenic area in the East, the urban area in the south, and the park in the north. It has a unique location, pleasant climate, hilly landform, and dense ancient tombs in the Han Dynasty. It is not only the dragon vein of Shugang West Peak, but also the birthplace of ancient Yangzhou. The town has 4 communities, 7 administrative villages, 133 villager groups and 248 resident groups, with a total area of 27.06 square kilometers (2017), including 10500 mu of arable land and 37997 people (2017).

In October 2019, Xihu town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

The National Health Association of Xiwei town decided to name the period from July 2020 to July 2017.

Regional overview

Xihu town has advantageous geographical location and unique transportation advantages. Xihu township was established in 1956 by the merger of shouxihu Township, Xiangbi Township and Shuangqiao township. In 1958, situ Township, Huchang Township and Huangzhu Township were merged into jianxihu commune. Xihu township was restored in 1983 and the town was established in 1992. In 1996, it covers an area of 35 square kilometers and has a population of 23000. It has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages of electric power, Huailiu, Xuantang, Gaozhuang, Zhongxin, Xinyi, Yuqiao, Huchang, Guoyuan, Shugang, Jingwei, sericulture, Weixiang, Xizhuang and one neighborhood committee of Xihu. In 2003, it governed two communities of situ and Cuigang and seven administrative villages of Jingwei, situ, Jinhuai, Zhongxin, Yuqiao, Shugang and Huchang. In 2011, Weiyang District was abolished and put under the jurisdiction of Hanjiang District.

Through years of development and agglomeration, Xihu town has initially formed "three plates" of industrial economy, commercial real estate and urban agriculture, and "four industries" of mechanical equipment manufacturing and auto parts, plush toys, fitness equipment and outdoor leisure products. Especially in recent years, relying on the development and construction of the original Shugang Ecological New Area (now the new city in the West), a medium and high-end residential area with Vanke Real Estate as the core has been basically formed in the east side of the railway, and a new industrial driving pattern with creative R & D enterprises as the leader has been preliminarily planned and constructed in the west side of the railway. With the return of the Western District of the new town, the district Party committee and the district government focus on building the Western District New Town, and Xihu town ushers in a new development opportunity. The whole town has a clear understanding of the situation, self pressure, and initiative, and strives to create a demonstration area of "industry city integration" and promote comprehensive urbanization.

It has been rated as "national ecological town", "innovative town in Jiangsu Province", "well-off town in an all-round way in Jiangsu Province" and "four have one responsibility standard town in Yangzhou City". Jinhuacun became the first provincial "e-commerce demonstration village" in 2014.
