Meidaizhao town

Meidaizhao Town, belonging to tumed Right Banner of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the east of tumed Right Banner and the junction of Hubao two cities at the south foot of Daqingshan Mountain. It is adjacent to tumed Left Banner of Hohhot City in the East, Shuanglong town in the southeast, jiangjunyao town in the south, Subugai Township in the West and Jiufengshan Management Committee in the north. The area is 266.99 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 38741 people registered residence.

In May 1958, with Salaqi County merged into Tumet banner; on October 1 of the same year, meidaizhao, hejiayuantu and gangfangying were merged into Dongfeng commune with maodai and subgai. In April 1959, it was renamed meidaizhao commune. In September 1984, meidaizhao township was changed. In May 1985, meidaizhao town was changed. In June 2020, meidaizhao town governs 21 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises in meidaizhao Town, including one industrial enterprise above Designated Size and 56 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

Ming Dynasty, known as dabansheng, was built by Altan Khan, the 17th generation of Genghis Khan.

The Han nationality in Qingzhen was under the jurisdiction of Salaqi hall.

In the period of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Salaqi county.

At the end of 1949, meidaizhao belonged to the Fourth District of Salaqi.

In May 1958, with Salaqi County merged into Tumet banner; on October 1 of the same year, meidaizhao, hejiayuantu and gangfangying were merged into Dongfeng commune with maodai and subgai.

In April 1959, it was renamed meidaizhao commune.

In September 1984, meidaizhao township was changed.

In May 1985, meidaizhao town was changed.

In February 2006, maodai township (14 administrative villages and 21 natural villages) was merged into meidaizhao town.
