Jinqiao town

Jinqiao Street (formerly known as chaeryan) belongs to Shuangliu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It is located in the hinterland of Western Sichuan plain. It is named after its proximity to the Jinma River Bridge. Jinqiao town covers an area of 41.35 square kilometers, governs 26 administrative villages and 4 towns, with a total population of 44910 (in 2017).

In December 2019, Jinqiao town will be abolished and its administrative region will be put under the jurisdiction of Peng town. In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.

Evolution of organizational system

On October 10, 1992, Shuangliu County decided to carry out the adjustment of District, township and town organizational system. Chaer Township and Hongshi Township were merged into Jinqiao town.

On March 26, 2016, the municipal government officially approved the "request for instructions on adding sub district offices in six towns including Yong'an town", and agreed to add sub district offices in Jinqiao Town, Shuangliu district.

In December 2019, the reply to the request for instructions on the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns (streets) in 15 districts (cities) and counties including Longquanyi District of Chengdu City cancelled Jinqiao town and put its administrative area under the jurisdiction of Peng Town, whose people's government was stationed at No. 70, section 3, Jiaotong road.

History and culture

According to historical records, the earliest name of chaeryan was Xiajin, which was named because there were many toads here. Later, due to the fact that there is sandushui in Chongzhou in the upstream and xinjindu in Jiuxian in the downstream, the ferry here is just one of them, so it is also called Zhongdu. Due to the narrow riverbed, deep in the north and shallow in the south, steep in the south bank, and rapid flow, when the channel is close to the south bank, the head of the boat is near the bank, and there is a risk of ear rub and face injury, so it is called "ear rub rock". The local people call it "lateral ear rock" or "cer rock".

Another saying: it is said that during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, Yang Yuchun, a military officer of Chongzhou, served as the governor of Shaanxi and Gansu, and was granted the title of Zhaoyong marquis by the Qing government. When he went to his hometown to worship his ancestors, he accidentally knocked down a gauze hat on the bank and hurt his ears. Since then, it has been called "chaeryan".

Jinqiao street is 9 kilometers away from Shuangliu district and 11 kilometers away from Shuangliu International Airport. Shuangchong Road, a county-level highway, runs through the whole area, and more than 80 kilometers of town level highway. Jinhua Avenue, 24 meters wide, runs through the area from west to East.

Economics

In 1999, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the town reached 233 million yuan, and the rural per capita net income was 2872 yuan. In 1997, the town was well-off.

Chengdu garbage treatment plant, Changhong iron and steel company and Minjiang water plant are the new growth points of Jinqiao economy; Kunshan village is the central demonstration village of Shuangliu district where "land is concentrated to owners"; multinational companies such as Weimai, Honghe Yuanye, Zhongdu seed industry and domestic famous Longtou enterprises have settled in Jinqiao.
