Changdong township is located in the hinterland of Dayaoshan, 28 kilometers southwest of Jinxiu county. Jinluo highway runs through the township government. The township borders Jinxiu town in the north, luoxiang Township in the East, Liuxiang Township in the South and dale Township in Xiangzhou County in the West.

There are 6240.9 mu of Pearl River protection forest and 2185 mu of green ecological forest engineering forest in the area, which belong to the Pearl River protection forest system engineering area and the key water source forest protection area of Jinxiu county. In that year, the per capita income of farmers in the single octagonal item reached 1720 yuan, which has become the main source of local farmers' income. Changdong township is rich in tourism resources with ancient geology, complex terrain, gorgeous scenery and charming scenery. Among the five branches of Yao nationality in Dayaoshan, there are four branches of chashanyao, shanziyao, PanYao and Hualanyao in Changdong township. Yao culture is rich and colorful, such as performing the unique skills of jumping on the cloud platform, climbing on the knife mountain and crossing the sea of fire.
