Jinqiao town
Jinqiao town belongs to Pudong New Area of Shanghai. It is located in the middle of Pudong New Area, adjacent to Zhangjiang High Tech Park in the south, Gaoxing town in the north, Huamu street in the West and Gaodong town in the East. It is the main development area of Jinqiao Export Processing Zone, a national development zone. By the end of 2017, Jinqiao Town, covering an area of 25.28 square kilometers, has jurisdiction over 6 villages and 7 communities, with a permanent resident population of 75796. In 2018, the national health county (township) was reconfirmed.
Evolution of organizational system
The town was established in the Tang Dynasty. In 751 ad, it was divided into Kunshan, Jiading and Haiyan, and was under the jurisdiction of Huating County, Wujun (Suzhou), the east of Jiangnan.
In the early Song Dynasty, it belonged to Huating County in Xiuzhou (Jiahe County) of Liangzhe road.
In 1277, Huating mansion was set up. The next year, it was renamed Songjiangfu, located in Jiaxing Road, West Zhejiang Road. The town belongs to Huating County, Songjiang Prefecture.
In the 29th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1292), five townships, Gaochang, Changren, Beiting, Xinjiang and Haiyu of Huating County, were designated as Shanghai county. The town belongs to Gaochang and Changren townships of Shanghai county.
In the 29th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1396), Nantai inspection department was set up in the 22nd Bao (now donggoudi) of Gaochang Township, belonging to the town.
During the reign of Hongzhi (1488-1505), the town was still under the jurisdiction of Nantou inspection department. During the reign of Jiajing (1522-1566), the map of Shanghai county was marked with the place name of Lu Jiaxing.
In 1760, the town belonged to the 22nd security guard of Gaochang Township, Shanghai county, Songjiang Prefecture, Jiangsu Province.
In 1810, 15 maps of Gaochang township near Haiti were set up in Shanghai county. After the establishment of Chuansha Fumin hall, most of the town belonged to the 22nd Baotou of Gaochang Township and lujiaxing city.
In 1860, the League Training Bureau was set up in Shanghai county, and the town was Luxing Township Bureau.
In 1907, Shanghai county changed East Road into Dongxiang Union District and Luxing Township Bureau into Luxing school district.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Dongjing Town of Shanghai county was divided into three townships: Luhang, Gaohang, Tangqiao and one city: Yangjing.
In 1928, Shanghai was divided into counties and cities. The city received only 11 cities and townships, and the town was subordinate to LUHANG district.
In 1936, Shanghai abolished Gaohang, Luhang and Tangqiao districts and merged them into Gaoqiao, Yangjing and Yangsi districts respectively. The town belongs to Yangjing district.
After the fall of Shanghai in 1937, the town belonged to Pudong North District, a special city of Shanghai.
In 1945, after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Shanghai resumed its pre Anti Japanese system. The town area belonged to Yangjing district (30 districts) and a small part to Gaoqiao district (31 districts). The Baojia system was still used below the district level.
On May 17-19, 1949, the town was liberated; on June 1, the Yangjing District takeover Committee of Shanghai Municipal military control commission of the Chinese people's Liberation Army was established, and the town was under the jurisdiction of the sixth and seventh offices (west part of Shangchuan Road).
In July 1950, the people's Government of Yangjing district was established to adjust the scale of the township.
In November 1951, the land reform ended, and the administrative division of Yangjing district was adjusted.
In January 1956, Yangjing District, Gaoqiao district and Yangsi district were merged, and the eastern suburb was established.
In August 1958, Dongjiao district and Dongchang District were merged, and Pudong county was established. On September 27, the red flag people's commune of Pudong county was established.
On May 23, 1959, the scale of Yangjing (red flag) people's commune was adjusted.
In March 1960, Pudong County adjusted the scale of the people's commune. Zhangqiao commune and Luhang commune were merged and named Zhangqiao commune. Five production teams of Ertang commune were assigned to Jinqiao commune. In August of the same year, the former Ertang commune was transferred from Jinqiao commune.
In February 1961, Pudong county was abolished in Shanghai, and its rural areas were transferred to Chuansha county. Jinqiao commune was transferred to Chuansha county.
From March to April, 1984, the government and society were divided and the people's Government of Jinqiao township was rebuilt.
On January 1, 1993, Chuansha county was abolished in Shanghai, Pudong New Area was established, and Jinqiao township was subordinate to it.
On December 1, 1995, Pudong New Area implemented the policy of removing villages and building towns, and Jinqiao township was renamed Jinqiao town.
On April 10, 2000, with the approval of Shanghai Municipal People's government, Jinqiao town and Zhangqiao town were abolished and a new Jinqiao town in Pudong New Area was established. On June 23, the people's Government of Jinqiao town was established.

Division evolution
In February 1950, Yangjing District of Shanghai Military Administration Commission was under the jurisdiction of the sixth Office of Shanghai military administration commission. Zhangqiao township (north of the road) and Luxing township (south of the road) were set up with Shangchuan road as the boundary. Zhangqiao Township governs 25 villages, Luxing Township governs 14 villages.
In July 1950, there were seven villages in Zhangqiao Township, Luhuang village in Luxing Township and four villages in Jingnan township. A total of 12 villages established Jinqiao township.
In November 1951, Jinqiao township was divided into Jinqiao Township and Jinxiang township. Jinqiao Township governs 7 villages.
In January 1956, Jinqiao Township and Jinxiang Township were merged with shezhuang Township in Yangjing district to build Jinqiao township. Jinqiao Township governs Jinlian, Jindong, Jinxiang, Youyi (shezhuang) and Jianzhuang five senior agricultural production cooperatives.
On September 27, 1958, the red flag people's commune of Pudong county was established, and the former Jinqiao township was renamed brigade, which was subordinate to it. Jinqiao production team has seven production teams: Jinlian, Jindong, Jinxiang, yuanjiaquan, minjiazhai, Youyi (later renamed shezhuang) and Jianzhuang.
In November 1961, Zhangjiang commune set up three production teams and merged into Jinqiao commune. So far, Jinqiao commune has eight teams under its jurisdiction.
There are 92 production teams in 8 villages of Jinqiao town (township). From 1991 to January 2000, 60 production teams have been abolished. From February to November 1999, Jinlian and Jindong administrative villages of Jinqiao town were abolished successively. So far, Jinqiao town has jurisdiction over six villages.
In June 2000, the two towns of Jinqiao and Zhangqiao "removed two and built one" to build a new Jinqiao town. It has jurisdiction over 11 villages and 5 neighborhood committees.
By the end of 2002, the people's Government of Jinqiao town had jurisdiction over 10 villagers' committees in Jinxiang, shezhuang, Jianzhuang, Jinming, Sanqiao, Zhangbang, zuijiao, Wangjiaqiao, Luhang and Meiyuan, and 5 residents' committees in Zhangqiao, Yongye, Jiahong, Jinpu and Yangguang.

Jinqiao town is located in the west of the central part of Pudong New Area, Shanghai. Its geographical coordinates are 121 ° 37 ′ - 121 ° 40 ′, and 31 ° 13 ′ - 31 ° 17 ′. Four distinct seasons and abundant rainfall. The annual average temperature in the town is 15.35 ℃. After the vernal equinox, the days are longer and the nights are shorter, the direct sunlight range is stronger, and the ground illumination time is longer. The main natural disasters in the town are typhoon, waterlogging, drought, cold wave and hail.

The terrain of Jinqiao town is flat and the soil is loose. The altitude is between 2.5-5 meters, and the groundwater level is about 0.4-0.8 meters. The terrain is higher in the southeast and lower in the northwest.

In June 2000, the total area of Jinqiao town was 29.32 square kilometers. By the end of 2002, the total area of Jinqiao town was reduced to 14.49 square kilometers. According to the statistics, there are 5205 mu of cultivated land with the thickness of more than 17 cm, accounting for 38.59% of the total cultivated land; there are 4360 mu of cultivated land with the thickness of 10-13 cm, accounting for 32.32% of the total cultivated land.
Water resources
The rivers and ditches in Jinqiao town are crisscross like cobwebs. In 1983, the water area was 4.3 square kilometers, accounting for 11.4% of the total area of the town. Majiabang river is 25-30m wide and 11.8km long. It flows through Jindong, Jinlian, Jinxiang, shezhuang, Sanqiao villages and Jinqiao market town, with a length of more than 6.5 km. Zhangjiabang is 18 kilometers long, 4.8 kilometers long and 40 meters wide. Caojiagou is 14.27 km long, 30 m wide and 7.3 km long. Zhaojiagou whirlpool is 1.6km long and 30m wide.
