Taiping Street

Taiping Street, a street under the jurisdiction of Wenling City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the south central part of Wenling City on the southeast coast, which was called Quanxi in ancient times. From the establishment of the county in December 1469 to the establishment of the city in February 1994, it has been the seat of the city (county) and the political, economic and cultural center of Wenling City. Historical evolution

On November 16, 1993, Chengguan town of Wenling county was renamed Taiping town. On February 18, 1994, Wenling county was abolished and Wenling City (county level) was established. On January 21, 2001, Wenling City abolished Taiping Town and established Taiping Street. From Chengguan town to Taiping town to Taiping Street, it has always been the administrative center of Wenling. The reason why "Taiping" was chosen when Chengguan town was renamed was that Wenling was originally named Taiping. In December of 1469, the fifth year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty, Taiping County was set up in the south of Huangyan County, which was named after Taiping mountain. In 1914, the Ministry of internal affairs of the Beiyang government changed the name of Taiping County from Wenling to Wenling because Taiping County had the same name with other provinces. At the same time, the meaning of Taiping is beautiful, so when Chengguan town was renamed, it was changed to Taiping town.
