Leye township is under the jurisdiction of Hulan District. It is located in the west of the District, bordering Hulan River in the northeast and Harbin City in the south. The township government is 10 kilometers away from the urban area. In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the fourth Hexi District of Hulan Prefecture.

Division evolution
During the period of the Republic of China, it was subordinate to Wanbao Town, Hulan County. After the fall of Northeast China, it was attached to mint Taibao at the beginning, and then Leye village was set up. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, Taitun district was established at the beginning, Leye district was set up in 1947, and then changed to the 13th district. In March 1956, the villages were divided into two townships, one was YUEYE Township, the other was enriching township. In September 1958, Leye people's commune was established. In January 1960, it was under the jurisdiction of Harbin City, under the jurisdiction of Daowai District. In December 1961, it was transferred back to Hulan County. In March 1984, the government and society were separated and changed into Leye township.
economic development
Leye township has a flat terrain. The township covers a total area of 125 square kilometers, with 99000 mu of arable land, mainly planting corn, soybean, rice, flax, sugar beet, etc. In 1990, 1.66 million broilers were sold, ranking first in the county. In 1990, the total output value of agriculture was 40.94 million yuan, of which the total output value of animal husbandry accounted for 53.5%. In 1992, the total output value of township enterprises was 32.48 million yuan. The township governs 15 villages including Jicai, Jiangjun, Shengrong, Yuguo, fufu, Yufeng, Xianjin, Yulin, Xinfeng, Xinli, Yangguang, Weizi, Hongxing, Yuxiang and Qingfeng. At the end of 1991, the total population of the township was 24900, of which Manchu, Xibe, Mongolian and other ethnic minorities accounted for 1.8%. The township government is located in shaojiatun, Jicai village. In the southwest of the territory, there is an ancient city site of Jin Dynasty, covering an area of 15500 square meters. Bronze Buddha, ancient coins, arrow clusters and other cultural relics have been unearthed in the city.
