Shengping town

Shengping town is located in the northeast of Pengzhou City, 9 kilometers away from the urban area, 34 kilometers away from Chengdu City and the hinterland of Western Sichuan plain. It passes through Longmenshan Grand Canyon, a national tourism development zone.

Shengping town governs 17 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, with a total population of 32351 (2017) and an area of 32.13 square kilometers. It is the hometown of Yin Changheng, the governor of Sichuan Province.

In December 2019, Chengdu Municipal People's government decided to abolish Shengping town.

The world famous brand "jierou" napkin is produced in Chengdu Tiantian Paper Co., Ltd. Chengdu Hengsheng Construction Co., Ltd. and Pengzhou Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., two provincial level construction enterprises, have made great contributions to the urban construction of Chengdu and Pengzhou.

Historical evolution

Shengping town was founded in the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty.
