Hongqi community is located in the southeast end of Yuhuan island on the coast of the East China Sea. It was established in August 2001. It is a densely populated area with a total area of 1.8 square kilometers, a total of 2727 households and 8693 permanent residents.

Hongqi community is the first community construction pilot unit in Yuhuan. Economic construction and social undertakings have always been ahead of the communities (villages) in Yuhuan, and have been awarded the honorary titles of "provincial demonstration community neighborhood committee", "municipal civilized community", "municipal green community", "municipal popular science community". all organizations in the community are sound, and the community takes the Party committee as the leading core. The Party committee consists of 17 party branches, discipline inspection group, Youth League Committee (9 Youth League branches), women's Federation, militia, Association for the aged, residents' Congress, discussion Committee and residents' Committee. The residents' committee consists of four films, 29 residents' groups, economic cooperatives, comprehensive office, social office, economic office and finance and trade office , convenient service window, economic entity (company), enterprise, fleet. The social affairs office is mainly responsible for: environmental sanitation, transportation, family planning, culture, education, health, public security, civil affairs, domestic services, etc.; the economic affairs office is mainly responsible for: industry, fishery, urban construction, land, tertiary industry. Each community organization should perform its own duties, make clear the division of labor and cooperate with each other. There are more than 60 enterprises under the jurisdiction of the community, with 2380 employees. There are three industrial communities that have begun to take shape, covering an area of nearly 100 mu. At present, there are 31 service vessels and 330 fishermen. With the rapid development of the tertiary industry, the total output value of the community has exceeded 300 million yuan. For many years, it has been awarded the honors of advanced grass-roots party organizations, top 10 industrial companies, star companies of 100 million yuan and top 10 fishery companies by counties and towns.
