Yongsheng township is under the jurisdiction of Huachuan County. It is located in the west of the county, adjacent to the suburb of Jiamusi in the West. The township government is 31 kilometers away from the county seat.

The name of Yongsheng Township comes from the name of Yongsheng Village. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Xingli District of Huachuan County. Xinghui township was set up in 1930. During the period of northeast occupied by the Japanese, it belonged to Taiping town at the beginning, and later to Taiping Town and village. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was under the jurisdiction of Huilong District in March 1947 and changed to the Second District in July 1950. In April 1956, it was subordinate to Gongsheng township. In September 1958, it was transferred to Gongsheng people's commune. In March 1984, Gongsheng commune was divided into Yongsheng and simajia townships. The western part of the former Gongsheng commune is the administrative region of Yongsheng township. Yongsheng township is a hilly area, which is a transitional zone between low mountains and plains. The township covers a total area of 81 square kilometers, with a cultivated area of 62000 mu. The township has 15 villages, including Yongsheng, Hongxing, Chuangye, Baoshan, Deqing, Jubao, Daode, Chaoyang, Qingfeng, Huilong, Donghua, Weidong, Wenhua, Longsheng and Futian. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 10200, mainly Han nationality. The township government is located in Yongsheng Village.
