Jianshe township is under the jurisdiction of Suifenhe City. Located in the middle of the city. Suiman highway passes through the territory. The township government is 3 km away from the urban area. After the founding of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of the Fifth District of Dongning County in 1917. After the fall of Northeast China, it was changed to the fourth district. In June 1939, after the establishment of Suiyang County, it was subordinate to Suifenhe street of Suiyang County. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, Suiyang County was incorporated into Dongning County in October 1948, and it was subordinate to the first district of Dongning county. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was transferred to the third district in 1952. In May 1956, hanconghe township was set up. In September 1958, the people's friendly commune was established. It was subordinate to Suifenhe District in 1968 and changed into Suifenhe commune in 1973. In August 1975, it was transferred to Suifenhe City and established Jianshe commune. In February 1984, the former Jianshe commune was divided into three townships.

Jianshe township is under the jurisdiction of mountainous areas, with Wuhua mountain, Dajian mountain, Miaoling, Lujiao mountain and other peaks. The township has 15000 mu of arable land, rich in honey and sunflower seeds. Township run industries mainly include wood factory, brick factory, powder stone factory, etc. The township has jurisdiction over Jianhua, Jiandong, Jianxi, Honghua, Kuangou and other five villages. In 1990, the total population of the township was 7233, with Manchu, Korean, Mongolian and Hui ethnic minorities. The township government is located in Jianxi village.
