Yaotun Township belongs to Jixian County, Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, China. It is located in the east of Heilongjiang Province, the hinterland of Sanjiang Plain, 29 kilometers away from the county seat. The total administrative area of the township is 136.8 square kilometers. The total population is 21000.

Yaotun township of Jixian county is located in the hinterland of Sanjiang Plain, about 20 kilometers long from east to west and 16 kilometers wide from north to south. In the north and West, it borders Jixian Town, Jixian County; in the south, it borders Shengchang Town, Jixian County; in the East and Southeast, it borders 291 farm, Youyi county and Fujin County of Hongxinglong Administration Bureau of Heilongjiang Province.

There are two local forest farms, four coal mines and one state farm in the rural area. The agricultural population is 18000, and the population density is 101 people per square kilometer.
Historical evolution
Yaotun township's name comes from yaotun village's name in China. When yaotun was first built, it got its name because it was located between shaoguotun and tianxingtun. During the period of the Republic of China, it was the Fifth District of Fujin county. In the late period of the Japanese occupation in Northeast China, yaotun village was set up. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was transferred to Jixian County and attached to Taiping District in June 1946. Yaotun district was added in March 1949 and changed to the eighth District in 1950. In March 1956, yaotun township was set up. In the autumn of 1958, he merged with 291 farm and withdrew from the farm in 1962, known as yaotun commune. In 1977, part of the production brigade was assigned to the newly established Liming commune. It was changed to yaotun Township in 1984.
Physical and geographical conditions
Yaotun township has a temperate continental monsoon climate, with an average annual precipitation of 500mm, an average annual sunshine hours of 2600 hours, a frost free period of 150 days, and an annual effective accumulated temperature of 2500 degrees. The whole township is flat. The low mountains in the south are the extension of the remaining veins of Wanda mountain, and the Shuangshan mountains in the West are isolated hills with an altitude of less than 150m. Erdaohe, which flows through the township, is a seasonal river and a tailless river. There are about 190000 mu of cultivated land in the township. The soil is mainly composed of middle sand bottom black soil and middle clay bottom black soil. The black soil is 40 cm thick and fertile. It is rich in corn, soybeans, flue-cured tobacco, potatoes, melons and vegetables, with high yield and good quality.
Traffic and communication conditions
Yaotun township is well-developed in transportation and communication. It has achieved all kinds of advanced domestic and international communication services with microwave in the air and optical cable underground. Tongsan highway, a national highway, passes through the township. In the south, it is only 4km away from yirao highway, a high-grade highway. The special railway of Shuangyashan Mineral Bureau of Heimei group runs across the township from east to west. The county, township and village highway network extends in all directions.
