Yongfeng Township

Yongfeng Township is located in the northeast of Rucheng County, bordering Jiyi Township in the East and south, Tuqiao town and Nuanshui forest farm in the west, and haotou Township in the north. The total area of the township is 97 square kilometers, including 7800 hectares of mountain forest and 621.5 hectares of cultivated land. It is a typical agricultural village in mountainous area where resources are scarce and financial resources are not good. It has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committee, 118 villager groups and 3959 households. The total population is 14537, including 260 urban residents.

It is connected with haotou Township in the northeast, Jilong Township in the East, Yijiang Township and Yijiang forest farm in the southeast, Tuqiao town in the southwest, Nuanshui town and Nuanshui forest farm in the west, and Tianzhuang Township in the northwest. Township government in Sanjiaoping, jurisdiction Xitang, Xianfeng, Qingcao, Nanlou, Beilin, Yinkeng, Jianbu, hengpingshan, Longnei, Xiaokeng, shankoudong, Dongsha, poshijie, Shankeng 14 villages.

Historical evolution

The name of the township comes from the original residence of the township government in Yongfeng cave. In 1950, it belonged to the Fifth District, Yongfeng Township in 1956, Feiyue people's commune was established in September 1958, and merged with haotou township to form Yongfeng people's commune in December of the same year. Haotou people's commune was set up in 1961, still known as Yongfeng people's commune, and was renamed in 1984. The township has a total area of 90.0 square kilometers, 749 hectares of arable land, 3828 households and 13408 people.
