Yongfeng Township is under the jurisdiction of Zhengxian county. It is located in the southwest of the county, on the West Bank of Mahe River, surrounded by Yanshou County in the East, South and West. With a total area of 73.9 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 10 villages.

Historical evolution

The township government is 21 kilometers away from the county seat. Originally under the jurisdiction of huifaheng district (District 2) of Fangzheng county. In March 1956, Yongfeng Township was set up instead of the sub district township. In March 1958, Yongfeng Township was abolished and put under the jurisdiction of huifaheng Township and Zhuhe Township respectively. In April 1962, Yongfeng commune was established by dividing parts of fahe commune and Zhuhe commune. In July 1983, a pilot project was carried out to separate the government from the community, and Yongfeng commune was transformed into Yongfeng Township.

Yongfeng rural land is high in the West and low in the East, with hills and shallow mountains in the West and plain depressions in the East. The total area of the township is 73.9 square kilometers, with 48000 mu of arable land. Township run industry has agricultural machinery maintenance, grain and rice processing, wood processing plants. The township has jurisdiction over 10 villages including Xinfu, Xinhua, Shanhe, Yongfeng, Pingyuan, Xinfa, Dongxing, Fuyuan, Xinfeng and Fude. In 1990, the total population of the township was about 8000, mainly Han nationality. The township government is located in dongjiatun.
