Under the jurisdiction of Liulin County, the town covers an area of 76.99 square kilometers, with a total cultivated area of 45000 Mu and 14500 people (2017).

It is located in the north mountain of Liulin County in Luliang, adjacent to dongwa township of Liulin town in the East, jiajiayuan Township in the south, mengmen ancient town in the west, xiwangjiagou Township in the north, 249 provincial road of Shanxi Province running through the whole town, and an important political, economic, commercial and cultural center town in the north mountain area.
