Jiangdong township is located in the northwest of Mangshi, with a total area of 219.69 square kilometers. Before liberation, it was mainly Xilian Township, and later it was Chang'an township. Hetou village, where the township government is located, is 38 kilometers away from Mangshi, where the municipal government is located. It is adjacent to Hetou township of Longling County in the East, Mengyang town of Lianghe County in the south, and wuchalu Township and Xuangang Township in the northwest. The highest point is at the main peak behind the Danian River in Xianrendong village, with an altitude of 2303 meters, and the lowest point is at the balianhekou in Liziping village, with an altitude of 826 meters, The temperature difference is 8 ℃, which is suitable for the development of all kinds of forestry planting. It is the town with the largest number of Han people in the city and the only Achang people's settlement in Mangshi. The main economic crops are tea, grain, animal husbandry, sugarcane and forestry, especially tea. It is one of the towns with the largest number of tea planting in the city and even the whole Prefecture.
