Longquan street is located in the north of Kunming city. It covers an area of 54.82 square kilometers with a population of 65673 (in 2010) and a floating population of 15900. There are 2 communities in Baoyun and Xinglong, 3 administrative villages in Yuanqing, Shangba and Zhongba, 25 natural villages and 31 villagers' groups. The office is located in Longtou street, 8 kilometers away from the city center. The mountainous area is relatively large, accounting for 4 / 5 of the area under the jurisdiction, and the forest coverage rate is about 54.9%. The historical sites include the tomb of Xianyang king of the Yuan Dynasty, which is a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level. There are Yunnan Agricultural University, Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, wildlife park and other units.

In the Republic of China, it was Longquan town in Kunming county. In 1950, it was the Fourth District of Kunming County, and then the seventh district. In 1956, it belonged to Longquan District of Kunming city. In 1959, it was incorporated into Guandu District to set up Longquan commune. In 1984, it was changed into Longquan office. In 1988, it was restored to the town. There are nine administrative villages in Baoyun, Yunbo, Gangtou, Shangba, BeiCang, Jinxing, Yuanqing, Zhongba and Zuoying. In 2003, Longquan street was established. After Guandu District was transferred to Panlong District in 2004, a new Longquan street was formed by Baoyun community, Zhongba village, Yuanqing village, Shangba village and luosuopo village group of BeiCang community, covering an area of 51.49 square kilometers. The office is located next to beidahua bridge on 7204 highway. Boundary: from Yanyan road to Jinzhi River, from Jinzhi River to Yunbo community boundary of yuanlongquan street, through Kunqu Road, shijiaochang, BOLUO community to Chuanjin Road, from Chuanjin road to the boundary of yuanlongquan street, from Longquan Street boundary to Panlong River, and from Panlong River to the intersection of Panlong River and Yanyan road. On December 24, 2004, Longquan street was officially established.
