brief introduction
Xinli township is under the jurisdiction of Bin County. Located in the middle of the county, around the county, for suburban township. In September 1964, in order to solve the problem that the rural area under the jurisdiction of Pennsylvania town was too large and the agricultural population was too large, the rural production brigade outside the city under the jurisdiction of Pennsylvania town was divided out and the rural commune was established separately, so it was named "Xinli". In March 1984, Xinli commune was changed into Xinli township.
Economy and Administration
The terrain of Xinli township is characterized by a semi mountainous area in the south, a plain in the middle and North, haihaihun river passing through from south to north, and a small Datong reservoir. With a total area of 174.2 square kilometers and cultivated land of 116000 mu, the township is a pure agricultural township with comprehensive development of grain production, diversified operation and rural enterprises. In 1990, the total grain output was 25000 tons, and the planting area of flue-cured tobacco, sugar beet, white melon seed and vegetables reached 26100 mu, accounting for 35.5% of the total income. The township raised 21000 commercial pigs, 5886 commercial cattle and 260000 poultry. There are brick factories, weaving factories and road transportation in rural industries. In 1992, the total output value of rural enterprises was 28 million yuan. The township has jurisdiction over 16 villages including Xinli, Shiyan, Dongshan, Wuben, Datong, Qinghua, Shengrong, Nanyang, wuqin, Baoquan, dawaizi, Erlongshan, Hexing, xuanyang, Xinglong and Heshun. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 31000, of which Manchu, Korean, Hui and other ethnic minorities accounted for about 3%. The township government is located in the town of Pennsylvania.
