Sandao township is under the jurisdiction of Aimin District of Mudanjiang city. Located at the northwest end of the city, it is adjacent to Hailin City in the west, North and northeast. The township government is 25 kilometers away from the urban area.

In April 1984, some areas of Yanjiang Township were delimited and Sandao township was established. Sandao township is located in Anfang mountain area of zhangguangcai mountain, which is a high mountain area.
