Jinshan District

Jinshan District is a municipal district under the jurisdiction of Xinbei City, Taiwan Province. It is located in the northeast of Xinbei City, adjacent to Wanli District and Shimen district. Jinshan hot spring is the northernmost hot spring in Taiwan. During the Japanese occupation period, the governor's mansion was set up here to develop hot spring recreation. In recent years, due to the upsurge of hot spring tourism, more and more attention has been paid to it. In addition, due to the convenient transportation with Yangmingshan, Jinshan has become an important recreational spot on the north coast.

history

Originally, this area was the settlement of the kaidaglan people of Pingpu nationality. The aboriginal language used to call it "kippare" (meaning "bumper harvest"), and later it was renamed "jinbaoli" because it was said that someone had found Shajin in Suoxi. In 1920, Taiwan implemented the system of state and county Street Village, and set up jinshanzhuang, which is subordinate to Keelung County of Taipei. After the national government moved to Taiwan, Jinshan Township of Taipei County was set up. In December 2010, Wudu was reformed into Jinshan District of Xinbei city.
