Xin'an Township

Located 15.8km southeast of the county, it is a newly built Township after the founding of the people's Republic of China. It is located in the water network of Jiangnan plain, adjacent to Qianku town in the East, Yishan town and Xianju town in the north, and Wangli town in the southwest. With a total area of 8.2 square kilometers, the township has jurisdiction over 18 villages, 4521 households and 19280 people, and its language is mainly speaking Manhua and Minnan dialect. The cultivated area is 7541 mu, including 7177 mu of paddy field and 364 mu of dry land.

Xin'an township is located in the eastern water network plain of Cangnan County, 15.8km east of Lingxi Town, Yishan town in the north, Wangli town in the West and Xianju town in the East. The river channels are crisscross in the township, and the water system is developed. Longjin Avenue, Longjin highway, Qianwang highway, Lingjin highway and Wangxin highway run through the whole territory, with convenient external transportation and obvious location advantages

Historical evolution

Yulong Township People's government was established in June 1950, Xin'an township was established in June 1952, and Nanping township was established in October 1953. The three townships were merged into Xin'an Township in January 1956 and put under the jurisdiction of Yishan District, which was changed into Xin'an brigade management area in 1958 and Xin'an people's commune in October 1961. In 1981, the administrative division was adjusted to be under the jurisdiction of Qianku District of Cangnan County, which was changed into Xin'an township of Qianku District of Cangnan County in 1984, In May 1992, it was renamed Xin'an township of Cangnan County. In 2010, it was changed to Xin'an community, Qianku Town, Cangnan County.
