Heping township is subordinate to Longxi County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province. It is located in the southeast of Longxi County, adjacent to bangluo town of Tongwei County in the East, Yongji town in the south, Wenfeng town in the West and Weiyang town in the north, with an administrative area of 100.4 square kilometers.

History of construction
In May 1950, Heping township was established.
In April 1953, Xinmin Township was established.
In October 1955, Xinmin Township was merged into Heping township.
In September 1958, it was the peace management area of Wenfeng commune.
In December 1961, the peace commune was established.
In July 1983, it was changed to Heping township.

As of June 2020, Heping Village has eight administrative villages: Wenzhong village, Panjiawan village, Yongsheng Village, chechang village, Xinkang village, Yunchuan village, Huangzhai village and Nancha village.
