Jiangnan street belongs to Meijiang district, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. In Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Shuinan and baitubao respectively. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Shuinan Township, Baitu Township and Shuibai district. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was renamed Shuibai township. In 1975, Jiangnan commune was established. In December 1981, the Southern District Office was established. After 1982, it belonged to Jiangnan people's Commune and Southern District Office. In November 1983, the Southern District Office merged with Jiangnan commune and changed its name to Southern District Office. In 1988, Meijiang district office was renamed as Meijiang district office.
In 2018, the wholesale and retail, accommodation and catering, and Industrial Enterprises above the designated size of Jiangnan Street completed 600 million yuan, 89 million yuan, and 84 million yuan respectively. In 2019, Jiangnan Street's wholesale and retail business on the designated scale will reach 490 million yuan, the residential and catering business on the designated scale will reach 45 million yuan, the industry on the designated scale will reach 90 million yuan, and the fixed asset investment will reach 500 million yuan.
