Maduo Township

Maduo Township, subordinate to qumalai County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the northeast of the county, bordering Maduo County of Guoluo Prefecture in the East, Qingshuihe town of Chengduo County in the south, Qiuzhi Township and YeGe Township in the west, and Dulan County of Haixi Prefecture in the north, 218km away from the county. The area is 14852.94 square kilometers. In 2018, 5350 people registered residence.

In 1958, Bayan commune was established. In 1962, it was renamed Madou commune. In 1984, it was transformed into Maduo township. As of October 2019, Maduo has three pastoral committees.

In 2018, Maduo township has a comprehensive store or supermarket with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Maduo township is located in a wide valley and beach to the north of Bayan Har mountain. The terrain is high in the West and low in the East, with an average altitude of more than 4500 meters.

climate

Maduo township has a semi-arid climate in the sub frigid zone of the plateau, with high cold, lack of oxygen and windy sand. There is no obvious difference between the four seasons in a year, only cold and warm. The warm season is only three months, and the cold season is more than eight months. There is no absolute frost free period, with more snowfall, long sunshine, strong radiation and low air pressure. It often encounters snow, wind, cold and other meteorological disasters. The annual average temperature is about 3.9 ℃, the annual precipitation is 376.6 mm, the annual average wind speed is 3.8 m / s, and the effective wind speed day is 205.2 days.

In 2011, the total output value of agriculture and animal husbandry in Maduo township was 28.234 million yuan. Animal husbandry mainly focuses on raising livestock, including 4905 large livestock, 35000 sheep, 222 tons of fresh milk, 10.7 tons of wool, 6.5 tons of yak hair, and 11870 skins (including cattle and sheep).
