Chaoyang Township
Chaoyang Township, Xiangfang District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province is located in Xiangfang District (yuandongli District, approved by the State Council on August 15, 2006, was merged with Xiangfang District to form a new Xiangfang District). It is adjacent to Pingfang District in the South and Nangang District in the West and North. It was originally in Chaoyang District of Harbin city. In March 1956, Chaoyang township was set up in the village. It is named after chaoyangpu village.

In 1988, the total area of the township was 56.2 square kilometers. It governs 14 villages and 13 natural villages in Qianjin, Pingshun, Yongsheng, Xianfeng, Xinli, Pingan, Xinxing, Yongfeng, Liujia, Fumin, Dongsheng, Jinxing, Xinfa and Danangou. The township government is located in yiyuangtun. According to the fourth census in 1990, there are 6228 households and 25837 people in total. Most of them are Han nationality, and the minorities are Manchu, Korean, Hui, Mongolian, etc.

Chaoyang township is flat with slopes in the north. It has a mid temperate continental climate. The rainy season is concentrated in July and August, and the frost free period is about 140 days. Ha Wu highway and Labin railway pass through the territory. Majiagou and hejiagou flow through the territory.
Historical evolution
Chaoyang township has a history of more than 200 years. During the reign of Qianlong and Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (1736-1820), yiyuanyuan, Danangou, Wapenyao, Xiaonangou, dongjingzi, laowutun, Ertun and Toutun were formed successively. During the Tongzhi period of the late Qing Dynasty (about 1862-1874), liujiawobao, Erdaogou, yanjiagang and other villages were established one after another. In the late Qing Dynasty, there were 100 families and 449 people in Chaoyang area. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, there were 1526 households with a population of 5872. Chaoyang township was set up in March 1956. In November 1958, it was changed into Chaoyang Branch of electromechanical people's commune. In January 1960, it was transferred to the people's commune of Dongli township. In January 1963, it was transferred to Power District, and in March of the same year, it was under the jurisdiction of Binjiang District. in August 1972, it was under the jurisdiction of the power area. In January 1984, the government and society were separated and Chaoyang township was restored.
Economic society
The township has 39774 mu of arable land, vegetable planting area accounted for 56%. In agriculture, summer and autumn vegetables are mainly planted, while in animal husbandry, broilers and layers are mainly raised, as well as cows and pigs. Township enterprises have prefabricated plants, sprayer factories and radiator factories. In 1992, the total output value of township enterprises was 45 million 680 thousand yuan. Before the founding of new China, there were four private schools and one private clinic in Chaoyang District. In 1988, Chaoyang Township had 2 middle schools (101 middle school and 141 middle school), 10 primary schools, 1 health center, with a total area of 1500 square meters of outpatient and ward, 37 medical staff, 80 beds, and 1 psychiatric ward, which could accommodate 40-70 patients. In 1985, the township government built a home for the aged near Dongsheng Village to enable the childless elderly to spend their old age here. the larger enterprises and institutions stationed in the township include: Harbin Economic Management Cadre College, Harbin new flour factory, Harbin comprehensive pasture, Harbin grain and oil comprehensive processing factory, provincial livestock breeding guidance station, provincial pickle factory, provincial aluminum foil factory, municipal No.2 agricultural machinery factory, Provincial Traditional Chinese medicine factory, Harbin No.1 traditional Chinese medicine factory, provincial garden art research institute, etc.
