Hu Wenhu Memorial

Hu Wenhu memorial hall is located in Zhongchuan village, Xiayang Town, Yongding County, Fujian Province, 10 li away from sancengling, the junction of Fujian and Guangdong. At the end of 1940s, Hu Wenhu built a tiger and leopard villa named after the two brothers, combining Chinese and Western architectural styles. The villa is made of brick and wood structure, round in the outside and square in the inside, low in the front and high in the back. It is a three story building, which looks like a downhill tiger and covers an area of 2730 square meters. In 1983, after the state implemented the policy of returning the Hu family property to the Hu family, the Hu Wenhu Foundation allocated 4.78 million yuan for the renovation of Yongding Hubao villa. In 1994, Hu Wenhu's daughter, Dr. Hu Xian, donated the Yongding tiger and leopard villa to the people's Government of Yongding County on behalf of the Hu family, opening up a "Hu Wenhu Memorial Hall".

Hu Wenhu memorial is a cultural relic protection unit in Fujian Province. There are also various kinds of objects, calligraphy and paintings in the four halls. Since Hu Wenhu Memorial opened to the outside world in 1994, there has been an endless stream of visitors. Although the place is remote, more than 20000 people visit it every year. It has not only become a patriotic education base in Western Fujian, but also a tourist attraction.

Comrade Li Peng, then Premier of the State Council, inscribed the name of the memorial hall. Mr. Wu Ze, a famous Chinese historian, wrote the inscription "patriotic overseas Chinese leader, Han Shi Liufang".
