Xinzhuang Town
Xinzhuang Town, belonging to Yifeng County, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the east of Yifeng county. It is adjacent to Gao'an city in the northeast and Southeast, shanggaosixi town in the southwest, Huaqiao Township in the northwest and Tangpu town in the West. The town is 10.5 km wide from east to west, 12 km long from north to south, and covers an area of 87 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Xinzhuang Town has one community, 16 administrative villages, 72 natural villages, 123 villager groups, with a total population of 16228 and 5112 households, including 15533 agricultural population.
In 2016, the industrial and agricultural production value of Xinzhuang Town was 2.8 billion yuan, the financial revenue was 66.76 million yuan, and the disposable income of human settlements was 11000 yuan.
Historical evolution
Xinzhuang Town, formerly known as Tiande Township, belonged to Gao'an County before the Song Dynasty. In 981, it was transferred from Gao'an to Xinchang County, which is now Yifeng county.
In the 21st year of the Republic of China, it was designated as the eighth District of Yifeng county.
In the 30 years of the Republic of China, it was changed into Tiande Township, and the Township Office was located in huchengwei. In March of the same year, because huchengwei was destroyed by Japanese planes, the Township Office was moved to Xinzhuang street.
In 1950, four small townships were set up.

There are coal, copper, lead, zinc, gold, silver, sulfur, porcelain clay and other minerals in Xinzhuang. It is the "coal capital" of Yifeng county. The coal seams are stored in the Permian and Triassic strata with excellent quality. By the end of 2005, there were 4 Township run coal mines and 2 village run coal mines in the town, with an annual coal production of 185000 tons. According to the general survey data of the provincial geological department, there are many metal deposits in Xinzhuang. The main minerals are magnetite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena and pyrite, accompanied by eight elements of gold, silver, cadmium and indium. The non-ferrous metal deposits are mainly copper sulfide deposits. The mine reserves 104100 tons of copper, 340000 tons of lead and zinc, 495 tons of silver and 14.85 tons of gold. Iron and manganese are stored in the Permian Leping coal measure strata.

The origin of place names
In 1956, four small townships of Tiande Township were merged into one Township, and the township government was stationed in Xinzhuang street, hence the name of Xinzhuang township.
