Xinzhuang Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Suyu District, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the middle of Suyu District, about 13 kilometers away from the district government, covering an area of 55 square kilometers. It governs one residential community, six administrative villages, and the town government is located in Xinzhuang community. By the end of 2017, Xinzhuang Town had 25 thousand registered residence population.

Xinzhuang, historically known as chenxinzhuang, was built after chenlaozhuang in 1941. In 1961, Xinzhuang commune was composed of 8 brigades from Caoji commune and 2 brigades from Guanmiao commune. In 2000, villages were removed and towns were built. First class Highway 324 provincial highway, second-class highway Suchuan line, Xinda line transit, minbian River and Yifen main canal crisscross the territory. The main tourist attractions in Xinzhuang Town are Shanhe garden. In December 2019, Xinzhuang Town was selected as "civilized town of Jiangsu Province in 2016-2018".

In 2017, Xinzhuang Town achieved a GDP of 2.146 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.6%; the public budget revenue was 28.05 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 101%; the per capita net income of farmers was 15460 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.6%.

History of construction

Before the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), the Kuomintang government established Xuedun Township here.

In 1941, the Communist Party of China established Xinzhuang township.

In 1961, Xinzhuang people's commune was composed of 8 brigades from Caoji commune and 2 brigades from Guanmiao commune.

In 1983, the rural system was restored, known as Xinzhuang township.

In 1987, Suqian City at the county level was established, and Xinzhuang belongs to it.

In 1996, Suqian City was established, Xinzhuang belongs to Suyu County.

In 2000, it was called Xinzhuang Town.

In 2004, Suyu moved from county to District, and Xinzhuang belonged to it.

In 1961, Xinzhuang people's commune was composed of Shiwa, Qianjin, Luzhuang, Xinzhuang, Linwei, Zhuwei, Yuanzhuang, chendun from Caoji commune and Zhenyou and Anwei from Guanmiao commune.

In 1982, Xinzhuang commune governed 14 brigades including Xinzhuang, fanan, chendun, xinzhuwei, Linwei, Yuanzhuang, Shiwa, Qianjin, ZhuWa, xinanwei, zhuowan, Maozhuang, Yezhuang and Zhenyou, and Xinzhuang agricultural science station.

In 1983, the brigade was changed into a village.

After 2001, the administrative villages were integrated, and by the end of 2018, one residential community and seven administrative villages were under its jurisdiction.

In November 2019, the system of ZhuWa village and Anwei village will be abolished, shanheyuan village will be established, and the village committee will be located in the former ZhuWa village. So far, Xinzhuang Town has one residential community and six administrative villages.

Shanhe Garden

Shanhe garden is a three-star rural tourism area in Jiangsu Province, located in the southwest of Xinzhuang Town, Suyu District, with a total investment of about 300 million yuan. The planning area covers a total area of 16000 mu, and the core area is 825 mu.
