Shahe Town

Shahe Town belongs to Xixiang County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the west of Xixiang County in the shallow hills, bordering Chengguan town in the East, Wudu town in Chenggu County in the west, Sidu town and Liushu town in the south, sangyuan town and Yang County in the north. The total area is 189.61 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

The town is named after Shahe, a tributary of Muma river.

In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Shahe Town was set up.

In 1950, Shahe township was established, belonging to the Second District of Xixiang County, namely Shahe district.

In 1958, Shahe township was changed into Shahe management area, belonging to Shahe commune.

In 1962, the two administrative areas of Qingya and Shahe were merged into Shahe commune, belonging to Shahe district.

In 1966, it was renamed spark commune.

In 1973, it was renamed Shahe commune.

In 1984, it was changed into Shahe Town.

In April 1996, Shahe Town was established.
