Old city street

The old city street is located in the southwest of Xinyang City. It has jurisdiction over 15 communities including Yiyang, sanlidian, Dongfanghong, Shihe, Baoshi street, Wuyi, Shengli South Road, Jianshe, Huanyu, Daqiao, Shengli, Nanguan, Zhongshan, Jiefang and binhexuan. Dongfanghong Avenue, Minquan Road, Zhongshan Road and Shengli Road crisscross. Historical sites include Daotai yamen, shenta site, daozuo Guanyin hall site and Dacheng Hall of Confucian temple.

Historical evolution

It was built in 1963 and renamed Laocheng street in 1982. In 1997, it covers an area of 3 square kilometers and has a population of 49000. It has 17 neighborhood committees, including Baoshi street, Wenhua street, Yiyang, Zhongshan, Jiefang, Shengli, Tongshan, Zhonghua, may day, Jianshe, sanlidian, Minsheng, Qiaodong, nandaqiao, Nanguan, Xiguan and Binhe.
