Diaoyu town is a town under the jurisdiction of Xifeng County, Liaoning Province, located in the northwest of Xifeng County, Tieling City, Liaoning Province.

Historical evolution

In Qing Dynasty, Diaoyu town was designated as Weichang (AI Xinbo yewei), Jichuan Village (Xinchang, Pude, Baoshan, Hongfeng and xiaosihe belong to Gonghe Village) in Manchukuo period, Jichuan Village (Xinchang, Pude, Baoshan, Hongfeng and xiaosihe belong to Gonghe Village) in 1945, changed its name to Diaoyu village in 1947, four districts of Xifeng County in 1951, established a township in 1957, established a Diaoyu commune in 1958, restored Diaoyu Township in 1984, and established a village in 2013 Fishing Township in Xifeng County was abolished and fishing town was established.

geographical environment

Diaoyu town is located in the northwest of Xifeng County, Tieling City, Liaoning Province, 19 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Xifeng town in the East, Mingde Manchu Township in the southwest, Dexing Manchu Township in the north and Yehe Manchu town in Jilin Province. Three kilometers north of the town government, there is a huge stone facing the pond, which looks like a Diaoyutai, hence the name of Diaoyu town. Hengyu highway and Aiqing river run through the north and south. There are three rivers in the territory, and the natural landscape includes tiehe reservoir, Diaoyutai, Tiantian in the northwest of wengshan Valley, Yanwoling, etc.

The town covers an area of 116.35 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 7 villages and 25 natural villages. The resident population was 7641 (2017).

Fishing town has more mountains and less land, which can be summarized as "eight mountains and half water, one field, half road and Manor". The town has 23265 mu of cultivated land (21615 mu of dry land and 1650 mu of paddy field), 98970 mu of mountain forest, 42285 mu of Tussah Silkworm farm and hazelnut orchard, and 2843 mu of orchard. The total volume of living forest is 260000 cubic meters, and the forest coverage rate is more than 60%.
