On May 7, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Guangyuan City to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships in Cangxi County and other three counties (cfgm [2020] No. 1): cancel Dade Township and Jinxi Town, establish Dade Town, take the administrative area of Dade Township and Jinxi town as the administrative area of Dade Town, and the people's Government of Dade town is located at No. 28, HeXie street, daheitan community.

Dade town is located in the east of Wangcang, bordering Nanjiang County of Bazhong City, belonging to the east gate of Wangcang. It is a shallow hilly area with an altitude of 400m-800m. The soil is fertile and fine. It is famous for its rich production of rice, corn, wheat and rape. Luoping River, the second largest river in Wangcang, flows through the whole township. There are many kinds of fish in inland rivers, so it has always been known as "land of fish and rice" and "little Jiangnan".

Evolution of organizational system

Dade Township, formerly known as daheitan, was named because of its dark water in the south of the field. In the Qing Dynasty, it was liupingbao. Daheitan township was built in 1940, renamed Dade Township in 1943, Dade commune was built in 1961, Dade township was restored in January 1984, and the district township system was adjusted in October 1992. Dade Township belonged to Jinxi Town, which was restored by the end of 1995 and directly under the county. The administrative region remained unchanged. In 2020, Dade Township and Jinxi town were abolished and Dade town was established, with former Dade Township and former Jinxi town as the main towns Its administrative area is the administrative area of Dade Town, and the people's Government of Dade town is located at 28 Hexie street, daheitan community.
