Wufeng town

Wufeng Town, located in Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County of Hubei Province, is a branch of Wuling Mountain. It is the political, economic and cultural center of the whole county and the location of the old county. Wufeng town borders changleping town in the East, Caihua Township in the west, Changyang County in the north and Hunan Province in the south.

Changsheng cave

Changsheng cave is located 4.5 kilometers south of Wufeng Town, 150 meters on both sides of Yalai highway, at an altitude of 680 meters. It is 1400 million years ago. There is a cave hanging above the cliff of Tianchi river. This is Changsheng cave, known as "underground Dragon Palace". Changsheng cave is a natural karst cave with complex structure, crisscross and zigzag. There are three natural entrances and exits: hall, corridor, canyon and underground river. The cave is 50-100 meters high and 300 meters deep. It spans 1500 meters from north to south. It is about 50-100 meters high and has five floors. It is said that in the 11th century BC, the ancestor of Tujia people, Lin Jun, often led his family and soldiers to live and play in the cave for a long time. He brewed "Tujia laoshao" wine with mountain spring and Baogu in the cave. After drinking it, he lived an immortal life. It is said that Zhang Xianzhong, the leader of the peasant uprising in the late Ming Dynasty, led his troops into Sichuan from Changsha and went through Changsheng cave. He specially recuperated in the cave for seven days. He was spirited and dignified, exclaiming that "living in the cave for seven days has been thousands of years in the world."

Baiyi Village

10.5 kilometers northwest of Wufeng Town, it is a high mountain ancient village surrounded by cliffs, which is called Baiyi village. It is a military pass of the ancient Tujia tribal leaders, mostly built by rocks. In addition to the houses of the residents, there are the ruins of the Tusi Tang Zhenbang Shuaifu, as well as ancient trees, strange stones, strange caves, strange caves and so on.

With a total area of 20 square kilometers and a main peak of 2320 meters, baiyizhai is the first peak of the five peaks, and the second peak in Central China, next only to shennongding. The mountain is steep and majestic. According to records, in the first year of Jiaqing (1796) of the Qing Dynasty, Lin Zhihua and Qin Jiahui, the leaders of the white lotus sect in Changle and Changyang, led the masses here. The Qing government sent the powerful Marquis eledeng Baotong to encircle and suppress them, and built cannons to bombard them. The white lotus sect finally jumped from the cliff and died because of the lack of food. Nowadays, there are still "Zang Jun Dong", "Yin Dong" and "zhaidong" relics in Baiyi village.

Baiyi village has many mysterious natural landscapes. Especially in qianjiawan, the north side of the main peak, there is a natural ice cave in summer, which is 1 meter wide and 50 meters long. In the middle of summer, when the weather is cold, the water condenses into huge pieces of ice, and the ice melts when it's over, but it's warm in winter.

There are many cultural relics in Baiyi village. The ancient Tusi yamen, yuearched bridge, Wanghu tower and fairy Temple all have a history of hundreds of years. The relics still exist. The ancient and simple Tujia dwellings are scattered all over the place, which are in contrast with bamboo forest and palm tree. Forty eight springs gush everywhere in the village, forming a clear stream, forming a beautiful picture of Jiangnan in the village.
