Daxing town is located in the north of Luchun County, adjacent to erzha township of Yuanyang County in the East and le'en township of Honghe County in the north, with a land area of 311.68 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 11 villagers' committees and 2 community residents' committees, 104 villages, and a permanent population of 54875 (2017). There are many ethnic groups such as Hani, Yi, Yao and Han living in Daxing Town, with Hani as the main ethnic group. In 2006, the total output value of agriculture was 52.86 million yuan, the total income of rural economy was 56.26 million yuan, the per capita net income of farmers was 1331 yuan, the total grain output was 10.302 million kg, and the per capita grain ration of farmers was 304 kg.

Geographical and climatic characteristics

The whole terrain is S-shaped, located in the southwest of South Asia of Ailao Mountains. The terrain is high in the East and low in the west, high around and low in the middle. It belongs to the landform of Zhongshan gorge, which is mountainous. The highest point is lailuohong mountain, with an altitude of 2296.9 meters, and the lowest point is the Bank of sanhaoqiao river at the junction of niukong Township in the county, with an altitude of 1290 meters.
