Daxing Town

Daxing town is located in the east of Huaping County, bordering Panzhihua in the East, South and north of Gangcheng. It has unique location and resource advantages. It is an important traffic route from Northwest Yunnan to inland provinces, and also the east gate of Lijiang City.

The town government is 30 kilometers away from the county, 230 kilometers away from Lijiang municipal government, 40 kilometers away from the center of Panzhihua, Sichuan, and 16 kilometers away from Geliping railway station of Chengdu Kunming Railway extension.

Daxing town covers an area of 112 square kilometers, with sufficient light and heat conditions and abundant water resources. The main crops are corn, wheat and rice, and the economic crops are broad beans, peas, prickly ash, mango, walnut, citrus, etc. the animal husbandry is mainly composed of pigs, cattle and sheep. It is a demonstration town of provincial cattle and sheep base. The town is rich in mineral resources, with proven reserves of 2 million tons of coal, 120 million tons of limestone, 305300 tons of graphite crystal minerals, and high-grade gold, granite and other minerals. Coal and limestone have developed into the two pillar industries of the town. In 2004, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the town was 157.537 million yuan, including 142.37 million yuan of industrial output value, 15.167 million yuan of agricultural output value, 44.67 million yuan of rural economic income, and 26.973 million yuan of per capita net income of farmers.
