Chengshan town

Chengshan Town, located in the south of Hukou County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, China, is connected with Poyang Lake and facing Lushan Mountain.

Chengshan Town, with a total area of 87.95 square kilometers and a population of 17551 (2017), governs 2 communities and 11 administrative villages.

Chengshan town has undulating mountains, vertical and horizontal harbor branches, wide water area and rich products. It is a low-altitude hilly landform, known as "the land of fish and rice in the south of the Yangtze River".

Chengshan Zhenbei industrial zone has formed an industrial cluster mainly composed of clothing, building materials, hardware, industrial and agricultural tools, and agricultural products processing.

At present, it has jurisdiction over two neighborhood committees, including Datang and Donggang, and 11 administrative villages, including chenling, Chencang, Tuanshan, pailou, Hengshan, Yuanmen, tuandon, Dongzhuang, Zhuzhuang, Guantang and Nanhu.

Historical evolution

It was Shunde commune in 1958, Chengshan commune in 1968, township in 1984 and town in 1994. In 1997, it covers an area of 26.5 square kilometers and has a population of 11800. It governs seven administrative villages, namely Datang, chenling, Chencang, Tuanshan, pailou, Hengshan and Yuanmen. At the end of 2001, Dongzhuang township was abolished and transferred to Chengshan town.

The traffic of the town is convenient. The provincial highway connecting Jiujing Expressway reaches Duchang County, and there are three cement roads along Poyang Lake. The towns and villages are connected by four meter wide cement pavement, and there are water transportation in spring, summer and autumn. The town is 5km away from the exit of Jiujing Expressway and 6km away from Tongjiu railway.

There are 35000 kV substations in the town. Four small (I) reservoirs are located around the towering Hengshan Mountains. The water supply is inexhaustible. The two waterworks are separated between the two towns, with a daily water supply capacity of 1200 tons, which can fully meet the living needs. It is rich in natural resources, including 360000 cubic meters of potash feldspar, abundant limestone and other natural resources beside Poyang Lake. There are 10000 mu of slash pine, thousands of mu of Phyllostachys pubescens and thousands of mu of Seedless persimmon.

Standing in the middle of Poyang Lake, surrounded by water on four sides and cliffs on three sides, shoe mountain, known as Fairy Island, is located in the west of Chengshan town. In the East, Hengshan yuanmi temple has a long history, beautiful scenery and pleasant climate; Nanhu Forest Farm faces shoshan and Lushan across the lake, where the forest is dense and green, which is of great development value.

Characteristic agriculture

Chengshan town is particularly rich in characteristic agricultural products. It is a national production base of high-quality pollution-free dry grain and rape, including high-quality black beans, Douchi, pumpkin, and wild Chenopodium selengensis, one of the three treasures of Poyang Lake. The production of Chinese herbal medicine has been in its infancy from wild collection to large-scale cultivation. The aquaculture industry has developed from big comprehensive pig and common fish to grey goose, meat pigeon, goat and bee. The characteristic aquatic products include crab, green shrimp and mandarin fish, etc., and the agricultural industrialization has initially formed.

Urban construction

According to the principle of "unified planning, step-by-step implementation, according to one's ability, and strengthening management", the construction of market towns will be promoted one street a year and one project a year. In the past five years, nearly 3.8 million yuan has been invested to harden more than 4800 meters of market town streets, lay more than 9800 meters of drainage pipe network, lay more than 9600 square meters of sidewalks, install more than 120 street lamps, and plant more than 1100 green trees. Chengshan market town has basically formed a "three horizontal and one vertical" road network and a drainage pipe network connected with ditches. In particular, the Chengshan Town Sports Park, built with an investment of 1.2 million yuan, has been appraised by the provincial and municipal leaders as a unique and first-class sports park for rural farmers in the whole province. There are many bright spots in the construction of new countryside. In the past five years, 34 natural villages have been renovated, and a number of new rural construction highlights have been created, such as Chen aifang, Chen cangwan, Yang Chaoxian, Zou JiZhai, Zhang Wenjian and Wang Jiashe. 55 garbage houses and incinerators were built, and 41 sanitation workers were employed. Through five years of support and guidance, Chengshan has formed two characteristic agricultural plates. The first is a 2000 mu early maturing pear industrial base with Quancheng ecological park, Xingang pear Park, Niaoshan pear Park, Hengshan pear Park and chenbaigang pear Park as the main body. The second is the industrial pattern of pig and aquaculture base with Xingang comprehensive farm, yikesong comprehensive farm, Yiqun ecological farm and seven thousand pig farms as the main body. The whole town has basically realized the industrial pattern of "one village, one product" with grape, cantaloupe, Camellia oleifera, vegetables and other characteristic industries as the main body.
