Taiping Street, Tianfu New District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, is located in the east of Tianfu New District, which is directly under the jurisdiction of Chengdu. It is adjacent to Xinglong Street in the west, Yongxing street in the south, Xinxing street and Longquanyi District in the north, covering an area of 85.36 square kilometers. It governs 10 villages and 2 communities with a population of 49500.

Taiping Street is located in low mountains and hills with beautiful ecological environment and pleasant climate. It is known as the "hometown of fruits" for its abundant fruits such as loquat and grape.

On December 23, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Chengdu to adjust the administrative divisions of 15 counties (cities, districts) including Longquanyi District (cfzm [2019] No. 24): Taiping Town and Hejiang town were abolished and Taiping Street was established. The administrative area of Taiping Street was the former Taiping Town and Hejiang town. Taiping Street office was located at No. 999, government street.

Evolution of organizational system

Taiping Street was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. The name of Houjie road changed several times. It was called Taiping town at the end of Ming Dynasty, and it has been thousands of years. It is also known as "yaoziba" because it is rich in pottery in history. Because it is located on the only way of "ancient post road of Bashu in Han and Tang Dynasties", it was once prosperous for a time, and is known as "Dongshan dry dock".

According to the written records, Taiping Street has a history of thousands of years, and has been renamed several times. It was called Hengshan Town before the reign of the Northern Song Dynasty, Longyao town in Yuanfeng of the Northern Song Dynasty, and Taiping Town in the late Ming Dynasty.

On March 27, 1965, the 154th meeting of the State Council decided to abolish the establishment of Huayang county and merge it into Shuangliu County. On April 8, the people's Committee of Sichuan Province issued a notice of withdrawing and merging counties. On July 1, Huayang county was officially merged into Shuangliu County, with 18 communes (including Taiping and Hejiang) and 3 towns (Zhongxing, Zhonghe and Taiping) under its jurisdiction merged into Shuangliu County.

On October 10, 1992, Shuangliu County decided to carry out the adjustment of District, township and town organizational system. Taiping Township was merged into Taiping town;

On December 1, 2013, the social management and public services of Taiping Town and Hejiang town were managed and served by Chengdu Area Management Committee of Tianfu new area, Sichuan Province.

In 2015, 12 towns in Chengdu Tianfu New Area (including Taiping Town and Hejiang town) were approved by the municipal government to add the street office brand.

In December 2019, the reply to the request for instructions on the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns (streets) in 15 districts (cities) and counties including Longquanyi District of Chengdu City cancelled Taiping Town and Hejiang town and established Taiping Street. The administrative area of Taiping Street is the administrative area of the former Taiping Town and Hejiang Town, and Taiping Street office is located at No. 999, government street.

Taiping town is 29 kilometers away from the central city and 12 kilometers away from Tianfu new town. It is only 20 minutes' drive away from the central urban area of Chengdu. The traffic is well-developed, with four lines running through. From west to East, there are Hualong road and Dongshan first express channel; from north to south, there are Sanchahu tourism express channel, Chengzi Luzhou expressway.

History and culture

Taiping town was founded in the spring and Autumn period. Because it was once located on the only way of "ancient post road of Bashu in Han and Tang Dynasties" and was rich in pottery in history, it was called "Dongshan dry wharf" and "yaoziba" with profound historical and cultural heritage.

There are cultural relics sites such as Guanyin Temple of Ming Dynasty, Taiping pool and the former site of Taiping Town Grain station with the style of the Republic of China. There are historical blocks such as Guangdong street, Zhengjie street, hengjiezi street and Shengsheng street that continue the traditional street pattern. There are cultural relics of the three Kingdoms, such as liuchan reading platform, zhangfei Dianjiang platform, the former site of zhangfeiying camp and zhangfei head stone carvings. There are also Guanyin temple, Tiantai temple and Shengjin temple Buddhist cultural tourism resources based on cultural landscape.

Local specialties

Taiping town is one of the fruit planting bases in the suburbs of Chengdu. It enjoys the reputation of "the hometown of fruit" and "the first town of loquat in Tianfu". Loquat has basically been planted all over the country and has been certified as a national landmark agricultural product. Taiping Town, represented by loquat and grape planting, has developed modern agriculture. It is comprehensively promoting the construction of "Jinxiu Dongshan" modern agricultural park.
