Qianjin farm is located in the middle of Chongming Island's north edge, adjacent to Fumin farm in the East, Xinmin and Daxin Township in the south, Changjiang Farm in the West and Ertong reclamation area in the north, with a total area of 24.12 square kilometers and 19346 mu of arable land. The total population is 9636, including 7732 permanent employees. The site is 19.3km away from the county.

Historical evolution

The site was originally daxinsha. In 1961, Shanghai Light Industry Bureau reclaimed and established a light industry livestock farm. The following year, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of capital construction reclaimed the east side of the light industry animal husbandry farm and established the animal husbandry farm of the construction commission. In October 1963, the two farms were merged into daxinsha farm in Shanghai; in October 1966, they were changed to their current name. After the implementation of the economic system reform, four companies were set up in the whole field, including agriculture and animal husbandry, industry, construction and living services, and 46 units were under its jurisdiction, including 14 agriculture and animal husbandry companies and 21 industry companies.

Industrial characteristics

Agriculture mainly produces grain and cotton. At the beginning of the construction, the grain yield per mu was only about 200 Jin, and the lint yield per mu was more than 20 jin. Over the past 20 years, through the construction of water conservancy, soil improvement, and improvement of farming techniques, grain and cotton production has increased rapidly. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the agricultural system reform has been carried out focusing on the requirements of "high yield, labor saving, and low cost". In 1983, the unit contract responsibility system was fully implemented, which was affirmed by the Central Committee and written into the No.1 document of the CPC Central Committee in 1984. In 1984, in accordance with the policy of holding family farms, the units of three agricultural brigades carried out thorough contracting and turned losses into profits. The annual grain yield is 899 Jin / mu, lint 140 Jin / mu, 583500 Jin / mu of pork, 3655 Dan / mu of fresh fish and 437200 Jin / mu of eggs. the industry started in 1970. In 1984, there were 21 factories. The total industrial output value was 50.733 million yuan, accounting for 89.2% of the total industrial and agricultural output value, and the profit was 7.0212 million yuan. Products are divided into light industry, machinery, chemical leather three categories. The Yongzi brand horseshoe type and 81 type bicycle locks produced by the bicycle lock factory have respectively won the high quality product certificate and excellent new product award from the Ministry of light industry, the Ministry of agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery, and the State Economic Commission. 62314 square meters of new staff housing has been built in the site, and the urban area with the site as the center has begun to take shape. The hospital has 55 beds.
